Mont-Tremblant is a ski-village and tourist destination nestled in the Laurentian Mountains in Quebec, the town is full of hotels and resorts. Some of these resorts are luxurious but can get quite pricey; La Tour des Voyageurs is a nice resort with everything you need at an affordable price. We stayed in Mont-Tremblant for two days and La Tour des Voyageurs helped make our stay more relaxing and enjoyable.
Location
Mont-Tremblant is a small town and there really are only two areas to stay: the Pedestrian Village or the Old Village. Most hotels and resorts are in the Pedestrian Village. The Pedestrian Village is small so the location in the village really doesn’t matter that much.
La Tour des Voyageurs resort is located at the base of the Pedestrian Village and if you’re feeling lazy and don’t want to walk up, the resort is located right beside the Cabriolet, which is a gondola that takes you to the top of the village. It is quite convenient. And only a 5-minute walk from the hotel is Parc Plage, the beach at the bottom of Mont-Tremblant located in Lac Tremblant. The beach costs $10 to enter, but if you’re staying at La Tour des Voyageurs and several other resorts in the Pedestrian Village, entry is free.
There are also several restaurants that are right by La Tour des Voyageurs including Mogouyan for Chinese, Noor Bistro for Indian, La Diable Microbrasserie, La Maison de la Crepe, Beavertail and many more. There is also a convenience store steps away too which is convenient if you want to cook in your room.
Rooms
The rooms are large and comfy; but slightly dated. But if they’re clean and cozy that’s all that matters for me, and they were. It’s part of the experience; La Tour des Voyageurs is a ski-resort with an alpine lodge feel. Like I said, the rooms are large and they have everything you need including a kitchen. We didn’t cook aside from instant noodles and heating up leftovers, but it was a nice option and nice to sit at a kitchen and eat our lunch. There was coffee, a fridge, an oven and stove, microwave and plenty of cutlery and plates. Our room didn’t have a typical balcony but a French Balcony; a large window that opens fully with no standing platform. It was nicer than a regular window.
Facilities, Pool & Lobby
La Tour des Voyageurs is an older ski-lodge, but it has a rustic alpine feel with wood finishes throughout, fireplaces and wood-paneled accent walls. The lobby is large with plenty of room for seating and I can imagine how cozy it would be in the winter with the fireplace going. There’s a water jug with cups and plenty of information regarding the activities offered in Mont-Tremblant.
The resort also has ski storage if you’re visiting in the peak winter season. There is a sauna, a gym with plenty of machines and weights and a nice pool and hot tub. We enjoyed the pool on our final night. The pool was clean, heated and had plenty of seating room. There is a small waterfall/fountain in the pool which made the experience more serene; relaxing in a warm pool at the bottom of the mountain with a small fountain... our daughter had a lot of fun swimming there. And surprisingly there was a lifeguard on duty too, which is good for families with young children.
And, if you drove to Mont-Tremblant like we did, there is an underground parkade with plenty of spaces to park and luggage trolleys to help bring your luggage to your room. It costs $25 a day for parking.
Price & Review
We had a great stay in Mont-Tremblant; the town is charming and relaxing and staying in the Pedestrian Village is a must. La Tour des Voyageurs is perfectly located at the bottom of the village and next to Cabriolet for convenience. The location, the size of the room and the pool at La Tour des Voyageurs added to the comfort and relaxing nature of our stay in Mont-Tremblant.
We paid about $270 a night for our stay, which was reasonable. The resort was slightly dated but clean and the alpine décor added to the charm. We could have stayed in a more luxurious resort but it would have cost much more; so, all in all, we were happy with our stay and would recommend this for anyone travelling to Mont-Tremblant for a charming summer vacation or even more so in the winter for an exciting ski-holiday.
